Mulla hospitalized in Georgia after beating

Doctors treat the health condition of Eldaniz Sadygov, a Mulla and an ethnic Azerbaijani, who was beaten up on December 5 in the village of Dashtapa, Marneuli District, as stable. The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) is investigating the incident under the article on the use of violence.

The 42-year-old Eldaniz Sadygov was attacked in the morning on December 5. The Mulla was beaten up in the village cemetery, after which he called the "112" Emergency Centre for several times. Sadygov said that the police began investigating his case only after he appeared at the police station. He believes that the attack on him was caused by the video message he posted on the Facebook on December 4, in which he expressed his dissatisfaction with the fact that for a month the police had failed to solve the theft of jewelleries from his house. After the beating, Sadygov is still in the Marneuli hospital. His condition is assessed by doctors as stable, says the message posted on December 6 on the website of the "Rustavi-2" TV Channel.
