Native of Adygea sentenced to 11 years in prison for aiding IS*
Today, the North-Caucasian District Military Court has found Pyotr Gnipel, a 19-year-old native of the Giaginskaya village, guilty of acquiring components for an explosive device, which he was supposed to hand over to supporters of the "Islamic State" (IS, earlier – ISIL), a terrorist organization banned in Russia by the court.
"According to investigators, from February to March 2018 in Belorechensk, Krasnodar Territory, Pyotr Gnipel, being an IS* supporter, received an order through the Internet to purchase and store items and components necessary for making an improvised explosive device (IED) and handing it over later to IS* members," a source from the court's press service told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.
According to his story, on March 15, Gnipel was detained by law enforcers.
"The defendant has fully pleaded guilty during the court sessions. According to the verdict, Gnipel was sentenced to imprisonment for 11 years in a high-security penal colony," says the today's report posted on the website of the North-Caucasian District Military Court.
