In Ingushetia, a quarter of the employable population remains without work. In total, in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), the unemployment rate is 9.9%, the "Rosstat" (Russian Federal State Statistics Service) reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that as of November 1, 2017, Ingushetia and Chechnya were the regions with the highest unemployment rate in Russia. In Ingushetia, the unemployment rate reached 10%, while in Chechnya ‑ 9.1%.

According to selective surveys, in August-October, the average unemployment rate in Russia was 4.6%. The average NCFD unemployment rate is the highest figure among the federal districts and reaches 9.9%. That means 464,700 unemployed people.

In Russia, the highest unemployment rate was again registered in Ingushetia (26.3% and 65,400 unemployed people) and Chechnya (13.5% and 85,200). In Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia, and Kabardino-Balkaria, the unemployment rate is close to 10%: 10.6%, 10.4%, and 9.7%, respectively. The situation is more favourable in North Ossetia, where among residents older than 15 years old, 8.4% are unemployed. Statistics on the Stavropol Territory is close to the all-Russian figures: 5.0%, as follows from the data published on the website of the "Rosstat" on November 23.
