In the 4th quarter of 2017, 5 people fell victim to armed conflict in Karachay-Cherkessia

In the period from October 1 to December 31, 2017, five people were killed in the armed conflict in Karachay-Cherkessia. No wounded were reported. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

According to the law enforcement bodies, all the killed suspects were members of the armed underground.

In October and in November of 2017, no victims to the armed conflict were registered in the republic. All incidents with victims occurred in December 2017. On December 18, five people were killed in the village of Zelenchukskaya in the course of the introduced counterterrorist operation (CTO) legal regime. The killed suspects were plotting to commit terror acts in crowded places, reported the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

Meanwhile, in the first, second and third quarters of 2017, no victims to the armed conflict in the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR) were registered.

The "Caucasian Knot" notes that the provided statistics cannot reflect the number of victims with the 100 percent accuracy. Not all information is included in the news reports. It is not always possible to check the reliability of the statements voiced by the law enforcement bodies. Besides, new facts about the events of the reporting period become often known after the statistics had been already published on the "Caucasian Knot".

In the fourth quarter of 2016, no victims to the armed conflict were registered in the republic. In 2016, in general, no victims to the ongoing armed conflict in Northern Caucasus were registered in Karachay-Cherkessia.

In 2015, at least four people were killed in the ongoing armed conflict in the KChR in Northern Caucasus. In 2014, no victims to the conflict were registered in Karachay-Cherkessia. In 2013, at least seven people fell victim to the conflict in the republic. Of them, five people were killed and two others were injured. During the year of 2012, in Karachay-Cherkessia, seven people fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. Of them, five were killed and two others were wounded.
