In the 4th quarter of 2017, 15 people fell victim to armed conflict in Dagestan

In the period from October to December of 2017, at least 15 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Dagestan. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The death toll reached 12 people, including one law enforcer and eleven people, who, according to the law enforcement bodies, were militants. Besides, three persons were injured, including two law enforcers and one fighter. In the fourth quarter, no civilians were killed or wounded.

The provided statistics cannot reflect with the 100 percent accuracy the number of victims for each of the categories highlighted in the review. Not all information is included in the news reports. It is not always possible to check the reliability of the statements voiced by the law enforcement bodies. Besides, new facts about the events of the reporting period become often known after the statistics had been already published on the "Caucasian Knot".

In the third quarter of 2017, at least 19 people fell victim to the armed confrontation in Dagestan. Of them, 15 were killed and four others were injured.

In the second quarter of the past year, 12 people were killed in a confrontation between law enforcers and militants. No wounded were reported.

In the first quarter of 2017, at least nine people fell victim to the conflict. Of them, eight were killed and another was wounded.

In 2016, at least 204 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Dagestan. Of them, 140 people were killed and 64 others were injured.

In 2015, at least 153 people fell victim to the conflict. Of them, 126 were killed and 27 others were injured.

In 2014, at least 293 people fell victim in the republic. Of them, 208 people were killed and 85 others were injured.
