Chechen residents treat statement on search for a girl from Dagestan as authorities' PR

A statement about the participation of Ramzan Kadyrov in the search for a girl disappeared in Dagestan is a PR step of the Chechen authorities, local residents reported. The Ramzan Kadyrov's late reaction to resonant events is an attempt to demonstrate his importance in Northern Caucasus, suggest the analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".

On July 29, in Kaspiysk, an eight-year-old girl left for a store and disappeared. The two-week search involving volunteers have not yielded any results. Investigators consider kidnapping as one of the priority versions.

The search will continue until the child is found, the Dagestani Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports.

It is too early to compare the statement about the participation of the Chechen leader in the search for the girl disappeared in Dagestan and the situation with the funeral and heroization of Temirkhanov sentenced for murder, believes Professor Alexei Malashenko.

The Ramzan Kadyrov's reaction to resonant events is aimed at emphasizing his status as the "first person" in Northern Caucasus, believes Svetlana Gannushkina, the chair of the Civic Assistance Committee.
