In Nalchik, activists arrange fundraising to help repatriates

On August 1, on the Repatriate's Day, a charity event was organized in Nalchik. The raised funds will be used to support families of needy repatriates.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 1, 1998, the Repatriate's Day was established in Adygea. On that day, the first plane with Kosovo Adygs arrived in the republic and the village of Mafekhabl was founded to accommodate the repatriates.

In Nalchik, the celebration of the Repatriate's Day was organized and held by activists of the movements "Paryt", "Zhegu", and "Nart Khaku", reports the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, who attended the celebration of the Repatriate's Day.

During the holiday, a charity exhibition and sale of children's drawings and books was held. The paintings, presented at the exhibition and sale, were made by children of Syrian refugees, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Olga Efendieva-Begret, an activist of the movement "Zhegu".

During the action, the activists raised about 9000 roubles. The money will be handed over to a family of repatriates, who do not have a refrigerator, organizers of the action announced.

Until September, the activists intend to hold another charitable action to support families with schoolchildren.
