Trial in Pavel Grib's case held behind closed doors

A preliminary hearing in the case against Pavel Grib will be held behind closed doors. A father of the Ukrainian citizen, accused in terrorism, reported that his son felt bad.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that 19-year-old citizen Pavel Grib disappeared in Belarus in late August, and on September 7 was found in Krasnodar SIZO (pre-trial prison) No. 5. The territorial FSB branch informed Ukrainian diplomats that Pavel Grib was kept there charged under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorism).

Pavel Grib is charged with the fact that he tried to persuade his friend to blow up an improvised explosive device (IED) during a graduation school meeting in Sochi.

"The North-Caucasian District Military Court got a criminal case against a man accused of the crime provided for in Part 1 of Article 205.1 (assistance in terrorist activities). Preliminary court hearings on the case are scheduled for July 9," reports today Alyona Katkalo, the press secretary for the Court, as quoted by the "Interfax". She specified that the court hearing on the Pavel Grib's case will be held behind closed doors.

Igor, a father of Pavel Grib, confirmed the information about the date of the preliminary court hearing. With reference to advocate Marina Dubrovina, Igor Grib also reported the poor health of his son.

"Advocate Marina Dubrovina has said that Pavel looks very exhausted and depressed. He cannot get either medicines or food," the defendant's father added.

According to Igor Grib, his son is a disabled man and he needs to take medicines regularly.
