In Tbilisi, an organizer of protests detained

In Tbilisi, rights defender Zviad Kuprava and three protesters were detained for failure to obey to the police.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 31, in Tbilisi, the decision of the court in the case on the murder of two schoolchildren provoked protests demanding a fair punishment for the criminals and law enforcers who covered them up. Zaza Saralidze, a father of one of the murdered schoolchildren, called for the resignation of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the Minister of Justice.

Today, Zviad Kuprava, the head of the NGO "Centre for Justice Reform", one of the organizers of the protests, has been detained together with three other activists.

All detainees are charged with administrative offenses, the "InterPressNews" reports with reference to the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA).

The police cordoned off with barriers the place allocated for the protestors and warned the organizers of the action that they should remove tents from the roadway, since the protest action was small. The protestors failed to obey to the police demand. 1
