Activists demand resignation of Yerevan Mayor

In Yerevan, several dozen people have gathered in front of the City Mayoralty and demanded the resignation of Yerevan City Mayor Taron Margaryan. The activists believe it necessary to deprive the posts of all those who were members of the team of the former Prime Minister of Armenia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on May 8, Nikol Pashinyan became the Prime Minister of Armenia. Serzh Sargsyan stayed at the post for six days and resigned under the pressure of protests.

Having become the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan can either leave the post shortly after achieving a change in the electoral legislation, or remain in the office and act with an eye on the RPA.

Participants of the action stated about "illegal activities of Margaryan, financial frauds and unresolved problems in Yerevan." According to them, "the problems of Armenia will not be solved by the Serzh Sargsyan's resignation only."

The participants of the action have noted they represent the initiative group "Reject Taron" and have no relation to the Nikol Pashinyan's team.
