President appoints Nikol Pashinyan as Prime Minister of Armenia

Armenian President Armen Sargsyan has signed a decree on the appointment of the oppositional leader Nikol Pashinyan as the country's Prime Minister.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today Nikol Pashinyan was elected by the second attempt to be the Prime Minister of Armenia. In total, 59 MPs have voted for Pashinyan, who was the only candidate for the post.

The presidential decree on the appointment of Nikol Pashinyan was signed today by the President in accordance with the Constitution, since Pashinyan has won a majority of the MPs' votes, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the President's press service.
