LGBT opponents throw eggs at Tbilisi transgenders

The transgenderers, who gathered today in front of the Georgian Ministry of Justice, have demanded the right to indicate in their personal documents the gender to which they relate themselves. The police detained one of the men, who threw eggs at the transgenders.

There were several dozens of them at the rally, who aroused discontent of a group of people who treated it as propaganda of sexual minorities and demanded to disperse them.

The group began throwing eggs at transgenders, but was stopped by policemen, who detained one of them, the "Fortuna.ge" reports.

"It's time for the authorities to severely curtail the propaganda of debauchery," said one of the opponents of the transgenders' action, held under the motto "I'm a woman – recognize it!"

"They demand a castration document from us; but this extremely expensive operation is not performed in Georgia," one of the transgenders has explained, the Interfax reports.

Earlier, on January 28, in Tbilisi, Miranda Pagava, a transgender and an LGBT activist, was attacked, and on February 6, she was beaten up together with other two transgenders.
