Two residents of Dagestan accused of stealing Nader Shah's sword
Residents of Dagestan will face trial in a case on theft of antiquarian articles, including sabres of the Shah of Persia, from the museum in the Dagestani village of Kubachi, the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia reports. The inflicted damage amounts to more than 8 million roubles.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the museum was robbed at night on June 10, 2017. The criminals stole more than 90 valuable exhibits, including the sword of Nader Shah. On August 31, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported the detention of people suspected of the theft.
Masters from the Kubachi village made weapons for khans, kings and general secretaries of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.
