Georgian thief-in-law Jaba Ioseliani's female supporter wounded in Georgia
Dodo Gugeshashvili, a retired colonel, has been wounded in an armed attack in Tbilisi; her son was killed, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 1989 Jaba Ioseliani created a militarized formation named "Mkhedrioni" (Rescue Corps), which played its role in the overthrow of the first president of the country, Zviad Gamsakhurdiya. The then Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze accused Ioseliani of grand treason, organizing an assassination attempt against the president and several murders. The "Mkhedrioni" was banned.
Ioseliani died in 2003 and was buried in the pantheon of prominent public figures of Georgia. His grave was desecrated several times.
According to the Georgian MIA, today an unidentified man opened fire at Dodo Gugeshashvili, a female veteran of the 1992-1993 Abkhaz War and one of associates of Djaba Ioseliani, in her apartment. Her 33-year-old son was killed, the "Sputnik-Georgia" reports.
