Two Navalny's supporters fined in Rostov-on-Don

The court has fined two townspeople for participating in the rally in support of nominating Alexei Navalny as a presidential candidate.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on December 28, 2017, policemen and employees of the "E" Centre (for combating extremism) came to Navalny's Rostov office and drew up administrative protocols on all the five Navalny's supporters at that time in the office. They were charged with holding on December 24 an unsanctioned meeting in support of Navalny's nomination.

The court in Rostov-on-Don decided to fine Vladislav Kulchitsky, an employee of the Navalny's local office by 30,000 roubles, and a volunteer Boris Papayan – by 75,000 roubles for participation in that meeting, a source from the office has reported. According to his story, Kulchitsky was found guilty of violating Part 3, Article 20.2 of the Russian Code of Administrative Offences (violation of the procedure for holding a meeting), and Papayan – of Part 8 of the same article (a repeated violation).

"According to the court, the meeting of a group of voters in support of self-nomination of Alexei Navalny, which was held on December 24 in full compliance with the federal law, was 'an unauthorized rally,' and all its participants are guilty by definition," the source told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
