Northern Caucasus starts collecting signatures for Vladimir Putin's self-nomination

Grozny and Vladikavkaz have opened points for collection of signatures in support of Vladimir Putin at the presidential election in Russia.

The voting at the presidential election in Russia will take place on March 18, 2018. The election campaign officially started on December 18.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2017, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced he would participate in the presidential election as a self-nominated candidate. In January, the Stavropol branch of the "Yabloko" Party reported that Stavropol students were forced to collect signatures in support of Vladimir Putin.

The collection of signatures was launched in 16 cities of Russia, including Vladikavkaz and Grozny, the TASS reports today.

In Vladikavkaz, activists collect signatures in support of Vladimir Putin in the shopping centre "Alania Mall", the website of the GTRK (State TV and Radio Company) "Alania" reports today.

In Grozny, the collection of signatures in support of Vladimir Putin was opened at the shopping centre "Grand Park" on January 5.

An activist of the youth patriotic movement "Akhmat" reported that he and other members of the organization were instructed to come to the shopping centre "Grand Park" and sign for Vladimir Putin. "My friends and I came there yesterday. Apart from us, there were members of other youth movements, young soldiers and students," he added.
