High-ranking law enforcer found shot dead in Nalchik
The body of Ruslan Mezhgikhov, Deputy Head of the Investigating Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Kabardino-Balkaria, was found in his study in the evening on January 5.
The death of the Colonel of Justice, Ruslan Mezhgikhov, was reported today by the MIA's press service.
"According to preliminary data, the death was the result of a gunshot wound. At present, all the circumstances of the incident are being established," says the message posted on the MIA's website today.
The perished Ruslan Mezhgikhov came to his office on a day-off in non-working hours. According to colleagues, Mezhgikhov locked himself in his study, and 10 minutes later they heard a shot, the Telegram channel Mash has reported.
The Mezhgikhov's body had a gunshot wound in the chest area, the "Ren-TV" has specified. Next to his body, his service pistol was found, the "Regions Online" reports.
