Mortar bomb defused in Adygea
In Adygea, a resident of the Kirov farm yard located in the Tashekhabl District found a bomb of World War II (WWII), the National Guard of Russia reported.
According to law enforcers, the resident of the Kirov farm yard reported he accidentally discovered an old bomb in the forest.
"Combat engineers have studied the thing and found that was a mortar bomb of calibre 82 mm, allegedly made in the 1940s. Specialists from the National Guard of Russia destroyed the bomb on the scene by detonation in compliance with all safety measures," states the report published on the website of the National Guard of Russia on January 4.
Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" has reported about the cases of discovery of ammunition of WWII in Adygea. Thus, on October 22, 2017, a 100-kilogram aerial bomb of WWII was found on a bank of the Kuban River. The bomb was destroyed.
