At "Verkhni Lars", line grows by 30 cars overnight

In North Ossetia, a line on the Georgian Military Road, closed because of bad weather in Georgia, has increased up to 124 vehicles, the Ministry for Emergencies (MfE) has reported today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting from January 1, the departure from Russia through the "Verkhni Lars" checkpoint is closed because of bad weather in Georgia.

At the "Verkhni Lars" checkpoint, 189 people in 124 cars, including 65 trucks and 59 passenger cars, are waiting in a line to leave Russia, the press service of the MfE for North Ossetia reports today.

Users of social network "VKontakte" discuss the situation in the public "The situation at the 'Verkhni Lars' checkpoint".

"We left Gudauri. And it is the second day while we cannot reach Stepantsminda. It was heavy snowing for 2 days. The day before yesterday, the MfE reported an avalanche had descended on the pass. And till present, it has not been cleared yet," writes today a social network user with nickname Svetlana Khismatullina.
