"Iriao" to represent Georgia at "Eurovision"

At the 63rd "Eurovision" song contest of 2018 to be held in Lisbon, Georgia will be represented by the "Iriao" band, which members combine jazz and ethnic Georgian music in their performance.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the "Eurovision-2017" contest was held in Kiev. Among other performers, singer Artsvik from Armenia and singer Dihaj from Azerbaijan were competing in the final. Tamara Gachechiladze, a singer from Georgia, was not qualified for the final. Russia did not take part in the song contest.

The "Iriao" band, which will represent Georgia at the international "Eurovision-2018" song contest, was formed on the initiative of composer David Malazoniya in Tbilisi in 2013, the "Echo of the Caucasus" reported on January 2.

David Malazoniya is considered to be one of the first composers in Georgia who combined jazz and ethnic Georgian music.

Singes from 42 countries, including Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and Russia, will take part in the "Eurovision-2018" song contest to be held in Portugal, the "Sputnik-Georgia" reports.
