Grozny residents report dress code for school morning performances
In Chechnya, the authorities have demanded that during pre-New Year morning performances at schools, schoolgirls should wear kerchiefs. This was reported by parents of schoolgirls and teachers.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by an official from the Chechen Ministry for Public Education, the New Year morning performances are held in Chechen kindergartens and schools starting from December 23.
Madina, a teacher from one of the Grozny schools, has confirmed there was an instruction that girls should wear kerchiefs.
"The girls who came in traditional national dresses did not feel any inconvenience, since such dresses were accompanied by large kerchiefs. Meanwhile, the girls who were dressed like princesses were a bit upset, since they had to give up festive hairstyles and diadems," the teacher said.
She has also noted that during the morning performances, many girls still wore no kerchiefs.
