Chechen authorities: more than 40 Russian citizens still stay in Iraq

In Iraq, a group of 41 Russian citizens has been discovered in a refugee camp. This has been told today to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by an official from the Chechen leader and government administration.

"They are 13 women and 28 children. Their situation has been reported to the Chechen authorities by Senator Ziyad Sabsabi, a representative of the Chechen leader in the countries of the Middle East and North Africa, who is now in Iraq," said the official.

According to him, most of those women are natives of Dagestan. "Besides, their number also includes a woman from Chechnya and natives of the Moscow and Bryansk Regions with their children," the official reported.

Today, on his page in Instagram, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has confirmed the above information. According to Ramzan Kadyrov, among the found children there is a three-year-old cousin of the Dagestani girls who had been brought home earlier. Her parents were killed "under US bombs in Mosul."

It should be noted that the information about the number of women and children returned from Syria and Iraq comes only from the authorities of Chechnya. The "Caucasian Knot" does not have any confirmation of the above information.
