Law enforcers associate firearm hiding with special operation in Tbilisi

A hiding with weapons discovered in a forest was arranged by suspected terrorists, and its location was revealed due to confession of a man detained during a special operation in Tbilisi. This has been reported today by the chief of the State Security Service of Georgia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 21-22, the special operation was carried out in Tbilisi. In its course, a special troop's fighter was killed, and four others were wounded. Three suspected terrorists were killed, and another was detained. One of the suspects killed in the special operation was identified as Akhmed Chataev, wanted in Russia and included in the sanction list released by the US Department of the Treasury. The FBI has been involved to investigate the circumstances of the special operation.

According to the Georgian State Security Service, a group of suspected terrorists crossed the state border of Georgia illegally, through a green belt. Detained Said Dudaev point to a place of the hiding in the forest where their weapons were stored, the "Interfax" reports with reference to Vakhtang Gomelauri, the chief for the Georgian State Security Service.

"We have got the confirmed information concerning the weapons, and we know from where they (the suspects killed and detained during the special operation) took the firearms and brought them home. The weapons were found in the forest and taken from one of the hidings. Now we are waiting for an expertise to re-confirm that the weapons were withdrawn from the hiding," reported Vakhtang Gomelauri as quoted by the "Sputnik-Georgia".
