Putin asks Abdulatipov to help Vasiliev to plunge into Dagestani problems

The former head of Dagestan and the leaders of 10 other regions, dismissed in late September, will receive state awards and should not interfere in the work of their successors, Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 3, President Putin accepted the resignation of the head of Dagestan, Ramazan Abdulatipov, and appointed Vladimir Vasiliev as the acting head of the republic.

Mr Putin has promised the former heads of regions to help in their further careers so that they could "make the most of their potentials and experiences." He also called the former governors "to help their successors to plunge into regional problems."

On October 19, Vladimir Putin appointed Abdulatipov to the post of his representative for humanitarian and economic cooperation with the countries of the Caspian region, as Nikolai Merkushkin, the former governor of the Samara Region, has recalled.
