In Baku, about 1000 people come to rally against corruption

Participants of the Azerbaijani opposition's rally organized under the slogan "No robbery and lie!" came to the stadium in the Yasamal District of Baku with portraits of political prisoners and socio-political posters.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 25, three suspected militants were killed in Azerbaijan. The law enforcement agencies announced that the killed suspects were plotting to commit a terror act at the today's opposition rally in Baku.

The action of the Azerbaijani National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF), sanctioned by the Baku authorities, began at 3:30 p.m. local time. By the beginning of the rally, about 1000 people gathered at the stadium, about two times less than at the previous rally held on October 7. However, people continue to arrive at the place of the rally, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Participants of the action brought to the stadium posters with portraits of political prisoners and political and social slogans. The police did not allow taking to the stadium the posters with slogans in English, note the organizers of the action.

On October 27, on his Facebook page, Ali Kerimli, a member of the NCDF coordinating centre and the leader of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA), wrote that the purpose of the rally would be to express protest against "corruption, lie, falsifications, embezzlement and misappropriation of budgetary funds."
