Kremlin suspends Abdulatipov’s successor in waiting line of governor's resignations

The Kremlin is dosing its decisions on replacing governors, and has not yet decided on the successor to Ramazan Abdulatipov, the editors-in-chief of the Dagestani media, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot", have suggested.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 27, Ramazan Abdulatipov announced his resignation as the Dagestani leader, referring to his elderly age.

So far, the website of Russian president has not information on the appointment of the acting head of Dagestan.

The delay with the appointment of the successor "is well within the Kremlin’s protocol," where the decision on the issue has not been made yet, said Milrad Fatullaev, the editor-in-chief of the RIA "Derbent".

Dagestan is not the only Russian region, where change of leader is the Kremlin’s headache. At least eight such regions are "in the presidential administration’s waiting line," Mr Fatullaev told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Magomed Magomedov, a deputy editor-in-chief of the “Chernovik” (Draft) weekly, agrees that the Kremlin is trying to follow the queue and not to announce more than one resignation at a time. "The Dagestan’s day hasn’t yet come," he suggested in his comment to the "Caucasian Knot".

"I associate the delay with naming the acting head of the Dagestani leader with procedural issues in the presidential administration," Mr Magomedov has concluded.
