Trial in "Sasna Tsrer" case postponed after advocates' protest

Today, in the case against 14 members of the unit "Sasna Tsrer" (Daredevils of Sassoun), advocates have come to the trial wearing T-shirts with photographs of Judge Gabrielyan and inscriptions calling for compliance with the law. However, the Judge did not appear at the trial and postponed it.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the court hearing in the case against 14 members of the unit "Sasna Tsrer" scheduled for September 20 also did not take place after the advocates went on strike and demanded to stop illegal searches in courts. On September 13, the defendants' advocates also held a one-day strike with the same demands.

The today's court hearing was scheduled for 11:00 a.m. local time. However, Judge Artush Gabrielyan postponed it without appearing in the courtroom.

The defendants' advocates have come to the court in the same T-shirts with the inscriptions reading: "Freedom to Artush Gabrielyan!", "Stop raping the law!" and a photo of Judge Gabrielyan.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by advocate Lusine Saakyan that Judge Artush Gabrielyan did not choose to be involved in the trial in the case against the unit "Sasna Tsrer" and "therefore he should be released."

By their action, the advocates attempt to inform the responsible persons about the illegality in the actions of court marshals who do not allow advocates to enter the court building without search, reported Ervand Varosyan, another defender.
