Buynaksk City Council member beaten up in Makhachkala

Marat Djankhaev, a member of the Buynaksk City Assembly, associates the attack on him and beating with his political activities.

The attack was committed late in the evening on September 25 in Makhachkala; there were five or six attackers, Marat Djankhaev himself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"I was driving along Akushinsky Street in Makhachkala, when unexpectedly my car was blocked by an off-roader; people jumped out of it, attacked and beat me up," said Djankhaev.

According to his story, he recognized one of the attackers as a relative of the former Buynaksk Mayor. Other attackers were unknown to him.

After the attack, he went to the hospital to fix his traumas – bruises and brain concussion. Then he applied about the attack on the police demanding to bring perpetrators to justice.

Marat Djankhaev himself associates the attack with his political activities. He points out that he was a member of the deputies’ group, which spoke out against the former Buynaksk Mayor.
