Attendance of rally in Muslims’ defence was below authorities’ expectations
The participants of the rally in support of the Myanmar Muslims, held in Grozny on September 4, represented North-Caucasian republics and praised the head of Chechnya and his father. However, there were no more than 100,000 of them, not 1.1 million declared by the authorities, the “Novaya Gazeta” reports.
The square, where the rally was held, occupies no more than a quarter of the 14 hectares, covered by the complex of the "Heart of Chechnya" Mosque, and can hardly accommodate 150,000 people, the “Novaya Gazeta” writes in the article entitled "Forcing to Myanmar".
For security reasons, it was forbidden to bring water to the rally. Almost every speaker urged the audience, which suffered from heat and thirst, to react more actively, the newspaper writes. Magomed Daudov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, blamed those present for their misbehaviour.
Then, Ramzan Kadyrov took the floor and "traditionally accused the West and the UN" and the whole world that "they were silently watching the genocide," the “Novaya Gazeta” reports.
Let us note here that social network users have treated the above rally held in support of Myanmar Muslims as useless, since the authorities of Myanmar, Russia and China "would ignore the appeals of residents of Chechnya."
