"Beslan Mothers" suggest a law on terror act victims
Today, 13 years after the terror act in Beslan, the problems with employment and housing for the victims have not been solved yet. They cannot receive repeated material help needed for expensive treatment, the members of the “Beslan Mothers” Committee have stated. In their view, the law on terror act victims can help in solving their problems.
Earlier, Susanna Dudieva, the chair of "Beslan Mothers", complained that in North Ossetia, the state programmes aimed to help victims of the 2004 terror act fail to work. She stated that former hostages cannot get the needed expensive medications for free.
The terror act made hundreds of victims disabled, Marina Pak, a member of “Beslan Mothers”, said on September 1 at a press conference, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.
Marina gave an example of Alina, 22, a daughter of Bela Tsoeva, a teacher of School No. 1, who received shrapnel wounds to her knees. Until now, doctors failed to remove all the fragments from the girl’s knees. Last year, she was diagnosed thyroid cancer and needs a surgery in Moscow.
Aneta Gadieva, a co-chair of “Beslan Mothers”, added that the republic’s authorities failed to employ anyone yet; however, they receive charity aid with the help of mass media.
