Doctors’ help needed to Tbilisi hunger-striker

Employees of the Georgian Railways continue hunger-striking in Tbilisi. Doctors provided help to activist Ilya Lezhava; another hunger-striker was prohibited to continue the protest.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 15, employees of the Georgian Railways went on a hunger strike. According to the protesters, they will not stop the hunger strike until their demands are met and they are restored at their previous workplaces in Kakheti.

Tonight, near the building of the railway department, an action was held in support of the railwaymen participating in the hunger strike since August 15, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

According to organizers, about 170 people took part in the action. As it became known in the course thereof, one out of the 15 hunger-strikers was forbidden to continue it by doctors. Another protester, Ilya Lezhava, felt bad, when he started speaking during the rally. Doctors helped him and took him to hospital.
