Relatives not aware of any threats to MP Mukhmad Askhabov before his murder

People who shelled in Chechnya Mukhmad Askhabov, a member of the Chechen Parliament, were travelling in a black foreign-made car. This was reported by the investigative bodies. According to relative of the deceased MP, during his lifetime he did not receive any threats.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 25, Mukhmad Askhabov, a member of the Chechen Parliament, was killed in the Achkhoi-Martan District. His car was shelled, lost control and turned over several times.

The law enforcement agencies are engaged in active search for persons involved in the Mukhmad Askhabov's murder; however, there are no suspects in the case yet. This has been told today to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by a source from the Chechen police.

According to the source, investigators have got a video record from a DVR in the MP's car, which registered the moment of the attack.

"The assassins in a black foreign-made car, supposedly of Toyota brand, approached the Mukhmad Askhabov's car from the left side and opened fire from automatic weapons. After that, the MP's Toyota Camry crashed into a roadside sign and turned over," reported an officer of the Chechen police.

According to a relative of the murdered MP, Mukhmad Askhabov received no threats during his lifetime.

"He was an open, honest and decent person. As far as I know, recently, he had no conflicts with anyone and no threats were addressed to him," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by a man who preferred to remain anonymous.
