Stavropol MIA bans its staff to visit bars on weekends

The Chief Department for the Stavropol Territory of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has issued the interdepartment order No. 656 "On additional measures to increase the level of combat readiness and strengthen the official discipline."

According to the document, staff members of the MIA's Department for the Stavropol Territory are forbidden to visit bars on weekends and also to travel on holidays outside the areas in which they serve, the "Gazeta.ru" reports.

The press service for the MIA's Department for the Stavropol Territory has commented on the order and explained it is aimed at increasing the level of combat readiness of personnel in order to ensure anti-terrorist protection, the "Interfax" reports with reference to the MIA's press service.

The MIA's order caused a negative reaction both among the policemen from the Stavropol Territory and their colleagues from other regions of Russia. The policemen filed a complaint to the General Prosecutor's Office, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
