Advocate Araik Papikyan complains about threats

The Armenian Helsinki Association has reported threats in address of its employee, advocate Araik Papikyan. He gets to his e-mail the threats of "personal nature" related to his professional activities. This was reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent with reference to the statement released by the Armenian Helsinki Association.

The threats addressed to Araik Papikyan himself and his family members are accompanied by demands to stop his professional activities, the Armenian Helsinki Association reports.

According to the statement released by the Helsinki Association, "the organization's advocate were repeatedly subjected to persecution," including "by courts or law enforcement agencies," in connection with their professional activities.

The Helsinki Association has filed a complaint about threats got by Araik Papikyan to the Special Investigation Service of Armenia. The organization demands "to take measures to disclose the crime and bring a guilty person to justice."

Let us remind you that advocate Araik Papikyan defends at trial the interests of Araik Khandoyan, a member of the unit "Sasna Tsrer" (Daredevils of Sassoun), one of the defendants in the case on the seizure of the patrol-and-post service (known as PPS) regiment building in Yerevan.
