Krasnodar journalist complains about receiving threats

Today, Andrei Koshik, a Krasnodar freelance journalist, has got phone calls and SMS-messages with threats of violence and insults. He associates the threats with his publications about a conflict between Kuban farmers and a Rostov concern.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in early August, Kuban farmers complained about seizure of land plots by large agricultural holdings.

"On August 2 and 3, I got similar SMS-messages and calls. At first, I got a call from a man who introduced himself as an activist, addressed by farmers complaining about the Rostov concern. I have told him that for several years I have been covering the activities of the concern in Kuban and its conflicts with local farmers. After that, I start to get SMS-messages with threats," said Andrei Koshik.

The journalist has noted that on August 3, he filed a complaint to the police and after that the threats stopped coming for a while.
