In Yerevan, man injured in mine explosion stays in grave condition
In Yerevan, a man injured in a mine explosion has a positive dynamics, but still stays in severe condition. This was reported by Suren Makaryan, the chief of the resuscitation ward of the Armenian Medical Centre.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 2, an explosion occurred in a private house in the Davitashen District of Yerevan. Two persons were injured, and one of them died in hospital. At the place of the explosion, a 120-mm artillery shell and fragments from another exploded shell were found. Later, four other shells were found in one of the houses of the residential quarter.
The activities to neutralize the shells were carried out with involvement of specialists from the Defence Ministry's Mine Clearing Centre, reported the press service of the Armenian Ministry for Emergencies (MfE).
Given the threat of the explosion, rescuers evacuated tenants of neighbouring houses.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Defence (MoD), the ammunition will be destroyed at military training grounds.
A criminal case was instituted in connection with the mine explosion, reported the press service of the Armenian Investigating Committee.
