Resident of Chechnya sentenced for supporting terrorism

The verdict of the court, according to which on July 28, 19-year-old Sheikh-Mansur Khaladov was sentenced to three years of imprisonment in a penal colony, would not be challenged. This was reported by a relative of the sentenced man.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Sheikh-Mansur Khaladov and his friend were accused of providing money to their acquaintances to leave for Syria and of failure to report to the law enforcement agencies about their acquaintances' intention to join militants.

19-year-old Sheikh-Mansur Khaladov was found guilty under Article 205.1 (assistance in terrorist activities) and Article 205.6 (failure to report crime) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. On July 28, he was sentenced by the North-Caucasian District Military Court. This has been told today to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by an official from the Chechen Prosecutor's Office.

Sheikh-Mansur Khaladov was sentenced to three years of imprisonment in a common-security penal colony.

The defence of the sentenced man will not appeal against the verdict, said a relative of Sheikh-Mansur Khaladov.
