Court pronounces verdict in case on attempt to assassinate Ramzan Kadyrov

In the case on an attempted assassination of the Chechen leader, the Gudermes City Court has sentenced each of three defendants Aziz Alviev, Beslan Zakaraev, and Shamkhan Magomadov to 6.5 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony. This was stated by a source from the Supreme Court (SC) of the Chechen Republic.

In September 2016, it became known about the prevention of another attempt to assassinate the leader of Chechnya. Three suspects were detained, including Shamkhan Magomadov, Beslan Zakaraev, and Aziz Alviev.

According to investigators, the assassination attempt was organized by members of the Yamadaev family, who are considered to be "blood enemies" of the Chechen leader.

"Aziz Alviev, a former body guard of Isa Yamadaev, Beslan Zakaraev, a former fighter from the battalion 'Vostok' (East), and his neighbour Shamkhan Magomadov were sentenced to 6.5 years of imprisonment in a high-security penal colony," the RIA "Novosti" quotes a source from the Supreme Court of Chechnya as reporting.

The consideration of the criminal case was delayed because of the fact that Aziz Alviev, Beslan Zakaraev, and Shamkhan Magomadov "did not remember" where they hid weapons, mentioned different dates of meetings, could not describe the plot of the assassination attempt, and sometimes contradicted each other, the "Rosbalt" reports with reference to its source.

Let us remind you that earlier, the reconciliation took place between Yamadaev and Kadyrov; however, according to the experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot", it was of formal nature.
