Check of wedding spending of Judge Khakhaleva turns into claims to advocate
The Board of Judges of the Krasnodar Territory has checked the reports about the expenses for the wedding of the daughter of Judge Elena Khakhaleva and concluded that they "were completely untrue." The actions of the advocate, who had disseminated those reports, should be given a legal evaluation, said Vladimir Kislyak, the Chairman of the Board of Judges.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on July 20, Mr Kislyak stated that the commission found no Khakhaleva’s violations in financing her daughter’s wedding ceremony.
The reports that the wedding of Ms Khakhaleva’s daughter was worth two million US dollars, were spread by the Moscow lawyer Sergey Zhorin, caused a huge public outcry. Elena Khakhaleva herself stated that all the wedding costs were covered by her ex-husband Robert Khakhalev, and treated the “wedding scandal” as ordered by someone.
According to Mr Kislyak, the total cost of the wedding was about 5 million roubles; all of them are confirmed by payment documents, the "Meduza" reports.
