Experts treat Apple's Muslim emojis as social order

The information on the fact that the Apple Company, the manufacturer of the popular iPhone smartphone, has introduced a new set of emoji pictures used in electronic messages and web pages, namely, by girls in hijabs, arrived at the "Caucasian Knot" SMS-service on July 18.

The appearance of these emojis is a reflection of what is happening in the world, says Irina Tsaregorodtseva, a Ph.D. from the State Establishment "Higher School of Economics".

According to her story, now, in Europe, the issue of migrants and minorities is being paid much attention to. "Those campaigns that are underway in the West: in defence of gays', disabled people's and other minorities' rights – are all interconnected," Ms Tsaregorodtseva has stated.

In her opinion, the emergence of these emojis is an attempt to show that the problems of minorities, including ethnic and religious ones, are relevant for the Apple Company.

The fact of the introduction of these emojis into the Apple system is indicative of the increased Muslims' role and of the social order, Mukhammad Salakhetdinov, the editor-in-chief of the Islamic portal "IslamNews", believes.

"I observe this growth in the territory of Russia; I think that the same trend exists in Europe," he explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
