SHI supports Makhachkala residents in their dispute with developer
Today, in Makhachkala, twenty tenants of No. 19 in Engels Street have held a rally on the developer's decision to build an additional floor on the roof. Such construction is possible only with the consent of all the owners in the house, said an official of the State Housing Inspectorate (SHI) of Dagestan.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 8, the tenants of the above house appealed to the Makhachkala Prosecutor's Office with a complaint about the developer's actions.
Magomed Shamkhalov, the head of the Dagestani SHI's licensing division of apartment buildings, has confirmed that they had received the tenants' complaint.
However, the developer showed the SHI official the signature of the tenants, who agree with the reconstruction of the house.
"According to the law, a citizen could not give such permit; it has no legal force, since there was no general assembly of tenants and their consent," Mr Shamkhalov has explained.
Tenants were satisfied with the explanations.
