Oldest woman from Kabardino-Balkaria included in "Russian Book of Records"
Nanu Shaova, a 127-year-old resident of the Baksan District of Kabardino-Balkaria, has been included in the "Russian Book of Records" as the country's oldest person.
Stanislav Konenko, the editor-in-chief of the "Russian Book of Records", has handed a certificate to attest the longest life over to the 127-year-old woman. He has noted that the woman has also achieved a world record.
Prior to Nanu Shaova, the title of the most elderly person in Russia was unofficially granted to Tanzilya Bisembeeva, a resident of the Astrakhan Region. This year, the woman will celebrate her 121st birthday, reported the website of the Kabardino-Balkarian leader on July 4.
Nanu Shaova was born in Zayukovo in a family with many children in 1890. She had no opportunities to get educated. The woman has devoted all her life to collective farm work and brought up five children. Her first husband was killed at the front during World War II. In 1946, Nanu Shaova married for the second time and lived with her husband during 36 years until his death in 1982. The 127-year-old woman feels well. She prefers to eat national dishes and sweets, the "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" reports.
