In Moscow, police detain a picketer in connection with Boris Nemtsov's murder case
Today, Mikhail Lashkevich, an activist of the movement "Solidarity", has held a solo picket near the building of the court which considers the case of the Boris Nemtsov's murder. The activist has been detained and brought to the Basmannoe OVD (Interior Division), the "OVD-Info" reports.
According to Nadezhda Mityushkina, the executive director of the movement "Solidarity", during the activist's detention, the police referred to the decree of Vladimir Putin, according to which in a number of regions, including Moscow, in the period of June 1-July 12, venues for holding rallies, pickets, and processions should be sanctioned by the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) in connection with the FIFA Confederations Cup, the "OVD-Info" reports.
Mikhail Lashkevich was holding a solo picket with the demand to find persons who ordered the Boris Nemtsov's murder, the "Mediazona" reports.
Boris Nemtsov was shot dead on February 27, 2015, in Moscow. The defendants in the case are the natives of Chechnya and Ingushetia Zaur Dadaev, the brothers Anzor and Shagid (also named by mass media as Shadid) Gubashev, Tamerlan Eskerkhanov and Khamzat Bakhaev.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2016, in the case of the Boris Nemtsov's murder, the court refused to question Adam Delimkhanov, an advisor to the leader of Chechnya and a State Duma MP, Vakha Geremeev, a former officer of the Akhmat Kadyrov's security service, Chechen senator Suleiman Geremeev, and Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. Advocates of the victim party believe that investigators try to remove the blow from direct subordinates of the Chechen leader.
On his Facebook page, Mikhail Lashkevich has reported that he was released from the OVD. "The Basmannoe OVD has concluded that the decree does not apply to solo pickets. I am free!" wrote the activist.
