Dagestani truck drivers begin to draw up "route sheets"
Dagestani truck drivers draw up "route sheets" for one-time trips. They are not in a hurry to install on-board equipment, since they still hope that their demands for the abolition of the "Platon" system will be heard. This was explained by the truck drivers.
The "Platon" system has two forms of calculation, including on-board equipment and a "route sheet", representing a document formed on the basis of the vehicle owner's information about a trip for calculating a fee.
When registering such a "route sheet", a truck driver is not obliged to install additional on-board equipment, but he has no right to leave the pre-planned route. This was explained by the press service of the "Platon" system.
Employees of Dagestani transportation companies have noted that all truck drivers leave for trips exclusively with drawing up a "route sheet."
According to Abdurashid Samadov, a member of the initiative group of Dagestani truck drivers, at a meeting with officials from the republic's government after the termination of the truck drivers' strike on May 10, the protestors were promised that their demands for the abolition of the "Platon" system would be handed over to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. However, the promise has not yet been fulfilled, Abdurashid Samadov states.
