Alpinist from Dagestan climbs Mount Everest

Rashid Gadjiyasulov, a Dagestani alpinist, being a member of a group from Russia and Ukraine, has made an ascent to the highest mountain of the world.

According to Pyotr Leonov, President of the Dagestani Mountaineering Federation, Rashid Gadjiyasulov has become the first Dagestani native who managed to ascend Mount Everest, the highest mountain on Earth.

Earlier, no natives of Dagestan have ever taken part in the ascent to Mount Everest.

At present, the group, with which the Dagestani alpinist has made an ascent to the highest peak of the world, continues descending from the peak and stays at the altitude of 8300 meters, the "Dagestanskaya Pravda" reports.
