NKR: Cabinet of Ministers proposes to involve unemployed people in public works
The government of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) has approved the project on involvement of unemployed citizens in temporary public works.
At a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on April 26, Samvel Avanesyan, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, the paid public work is designed to solve the problem of unemployment in the NKR.
"The priority for implementation of the project will be given to the regions of Artsakh (ancient name of the NKR). The project implementation period will last for three months and will be paid for in the maximum amount of 6330 drams, including VAT (about 13 US dollars). Each programme provides financing of up to 2,000,000 drams," said Samvel Avanesyan.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the NKR’s National Statistical Service that women comprise 91.7% of officially registered unemployed persons.
