Dolzhenko’s advocate and relatives treat ECC’s verdict as shameful
The advocate and the wife of Alexander Dolzhenko, the former arbitration manager of the “Dalnaya Step” Company, have condemned the guilty verdict passed by the Elista City Court (ECC) and stated Alexander’s innocence. The defence has appealed against the verdict, since it believes that Dolzhenko's rights to defence had been violated at the trial.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 6, the ECC found Dolzhenko guilty of complicity in the deliberate bankruptcy of the LLC “Dalnaya Step”, a Kalmyk "daughter" of the “Hermitage Capital” Foundation, and sentenced him to two-year in a general security colony. After announcing the verdict, Alexander was hospitalized. According to his advocate Alaudi Musaev, Alexander suffers from a progressing dermatological disease.
Mr Dolzhenko refused to plead guilty. At the court session on March 16, he stated the political nature of his case.
Alaudi Musaev has stated that Dolzhenko could not be involved in the bankruptcy of the LLC “Dalnaya Step”, since he began acting as the tender manager of the company under the decision of the Arbitration Court only in September 2006" while "money was stolen and withdrawn from the company before December 25, 2004."
Earlier, the defence reproached the court of the intention to stage “the second Magnitsky case."
Irina, the wife of Alexander Dolzhenko, believes that her husband was "framed", and treats the verdict as "shameful."
