In Malgobek, shelling of FSB building becomes third armed incident since start of year

The attack on the building of the Malgobek Department of the Russian FSB Department for Ingushetia has become the third case of the use of firearms against law enforcers in the territory of Malgobek since early 2017. Two other cases occurred in January.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the building of the Malgobek Department of the Russian FSB Department for Ingushetia has been shelled tonight. According to the law enforcement bodies, no one suffered in the attack.

On January 27, in Malgobek, policemen tried to stop a suspicious car with tinted windows to check documents; however, the driver ignored their demand. The policemen started to chase the car, and during the chase, the police patrol car was shelled. As a result, no policemen were injured. The attackers threw their car and fled in some unknown direction.

A 28-year-old resident of Malgobek was suspected of involvement in the incident. During the inspection of his house, law enforcers seized two magazines to Makarov pistol, filled with cartridges, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reports.

On January 18, a resident of Malgobek was killed in a shootout with his brother. According to the MIA, a 30-year-old local resident armed with a pistol voiced threats. The brother of the attacker, a staff member of the law enforcement bodies, was shelled and used the weapons in response.
