Sochi residents hold action in support of Nadezhda Degteryova’s mother (+video)

About 25 residents of Sochi have come today to Vereschagin Bridge, where the 36-year-old Nadezhda Degteryova perished nine days ago. They expressed their condolences to the mother of the deceased, and promised to support the elderly woman and demand from law enforcers to punish those guilty of her daughter’s death.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Nadezhda Degteryova had committed suicide after a court decision to evict her family out into the street.

The people, who have come today to express their condolences, told Nadezhda Degteryova’s mother that they themselves are victims of the judicial system. They came to the conclusion that they should unite against the lawlessness and indifference of the authorities.

“The death of Nadezhda should not be left unnoticed by the society. Many would like to forget the accident as soon as possible, but we should try to make it not forgotten and to have those guilty of Nadezhda's death duly punished according to Russian laws And Nadezhda’s mother – Praskovya Petrovna – will have our support," Gennady Kotenko, an activist of the movement "Open Sochi", which has about a thousand members, said during the action.
