Elena Denisenko states torture of her client Ramazanov

Abdusalam Ramazanov, accused of an attempt to join Syrian militants, refuses to plead guilty and states he had been tortured by power agents, said his advocate Elena Denisenko. The trial of Ramazanov was rescheduled for December 20, because he was not brought to the court for the first session.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that wrote that Elena Denisenko was taken off the bus by power agents at the Gerzel checkpoint in Dagestan on her way to the trial of Ramazanov. After checking the documents, the advocate was released.

On December 7, the North-Caucasian District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don began considering the case of Abdusalam Ramazanov, a native of the Tsuntin District of Dagestan.

According to the advocate Denisenko, Ramazanov refuses to plead guilty, insisting that he had gone to the Middle East in order to study in Egypt, and then in Turkey. In their turn, investigators assert that Ramazanov had gone to Istanbul, aiming to get to Syria from there, but failed.

Elena Denisenko said that after Ramazanov's detention his relatives could not establish his whereabouts for several days. Abdusalam asserts that all this time he was subjected to pressure and torture by power agents.
